The new Beech Hill Memorial Hall completed its first full year of operations in February, and the overall impression is that the new building has proved to be a runaway success story. The level of usage has increased enormously and the range of events it hosts is much greater than in the old hall.
User feedback has been overwhelmingly positive with visitors appreciating the space, the ambience and the excellent modern amenities. This has been a clear vindication of the bold decision the management committee took back in 2008 to raise the money for a new hall and some reward for all the hard work put in by many local people to bring the project to fruition.
But the management committee has no intention of sitting on its laurels! Further enhancements to the hall are now being made following successful grant applications to the Greenham Common Trust and the West Berks District Council. This is enabling a new first floor meeting room to be opened up, improvements to disabled access and upgrading the car park area. There will also be a full programme of community events organised by the management committee over the coming year.
